For today’s post we figured we would give everyone a quick update on the status of our cars amongst some other things.
Recently we (carefully) loaded Dylan’s E36 (wearing its brand new Stance coilovers) onto last-minute life-saver Stefano’s tilt trailer and took it to the team at Supermodel for some finishing touches before it is ready for its underside to be fettled with by the one and only Rudeboy Customs. Hopefully soon Dylan’s E36 will return to shaving off it’s frame rails on flat ground once again.
To celebrate Alex’s birthday in the most Checkpoint way possible, Dylan surprised him with not only a 350mm leather Momo Monte Carlo (a wheel he had been looking for since getting the S14) but a Nismo horn button and Bride head pad as well. Talk about having good friends.
The SR has also spent a little bit of time under the knife recently having its efficiency optimized, rich-running conditions corrected, and some overall maintenance looked after; right in time for all the excellent summer weather we have been getting.
To properly enjoy the new style-ups and the corrections to the rich running conditions,we figured a night drive was in order, and this recent heat wave provided a perfect evening to do just that. Keep an eye out for a video of that coming soon.
At this rate maybe we’ll even see Jake’s JZX90 back on the streets soon, but for now enjoy these photos we pulled from the archive.
After an unfortunate mishap at a drift event last year Jake’s Mkii has been down for the count. But things are looking up as the final few parts he needs to return the JZX to its former glory are on their way. In other exciting news; Jake’s turbo 1jzx Toyota Crown (jacket hauler) has arrived from Japan and has been dropped off at Serialnine for some maintenance before it gets inspected. Thanks, Mike and Forthright Trading for all the help bringing this unit in!
We figured that for this week we would give everyone a small look at what we have been up to. As summer has just begun in Vancouver, we have a lot going on and even more plans in the works. If you’re local you may want to pay extra close attention to our social channels this week as we have something exciting planned for this weekend with a few friends and you might just want to come out.
We are very close to having a new (and largest ever) run of Japanese goods up on our store.
Considering that our last Checkpoint order from Japan before this was back in early 2018, it is truly exciting to think that not only are we coming back, but we are relaunching with the best and largest selection we have ever had from one shipment.
And if you’ve managed to make it this far; check out our branded merchandise, now available online!

See you soon.
