Overview.

For this week’s article, I figured it would be fun to spend a little time providing everyone with a brief update on the life and times of Checkpoint as well as some of the exciting things that we have planned over the coming weeks.

First and foremost, thank you to everyone who bought our LOW CAR STYLE shirts, our embroidered windbreakers and used the GOODGOODS (now expired) discount code over the last two weeks of sales that we ran.

Fine adjustments continue to be performed on Alex’s S14.  Sometime this Fall, Dave at Uknown Automotive will be converting the Nistune to read from the wideband, adding a boost controller and getting the car some dyno time to maximize performance and focus on making efficient power. Fingers crossed that this puts the days of rich running conditions behind the humble blacktop SR.

On the topic of our cars, we have made some progress on Dylan’s E36 and have managed to get the new, larger, tires on, install the Parts Shop Max adjustable rear upper control arms, and get the ride height adjusted. With this new setup, his car is essentially an alignment away from being much more drivable. Once the alignment is done, Dylan is hoping to make the most out of the last few weeks of summer and get a bit of seat time in at some drift days. We’re looking forward to seeing this car on track.

Ultimately, coming out of both the sale on the shirts as well as the windbreaker we’ve decided to reduce the price on our remaining Japan goods inventory from the last run we did. All of the jackets and shirts have been dropped by $10 and the remaining Snap-On gloves have been dropped by $5. If you are reading this on the blog these changes have already been made, so get over to the store and get your own piece of Japanese history.

We are doing this to show our gratitude for all of your support, to make way for our next run of inventory and to build some excitement for the next thing I’m about to talk about.

The Pop Up Shop!

Another awesome summer has nearly come to an end, so the team at Checkpoint and at Printing Yes! have decided that the best way of celebrating the return of Checkpoint and another awesome year for the best print shop in town would be by throwing an awesome party and pop-up.

Bring your cars, cameras, dogs, vintage apparel, and good attitudes as we celebrate with everything we’ve got. Feel free to stay as long as you would like and invite your friends.

The event will start at 6:00 pm and go late!

There will be:

  • VIP parking section
  • street parking
  • music
  • food
  • custom event t-shirt available
  • vintage Japan goods to try on and purchase
  • a limited amount of Checkpoint branded gear available as well

We hope to see you there!
