Wake Up Call.

What do you get when a New Zealander living in Vancouver, BC builds a 600hp JZX100? A great way for Checkpoint to spend a Saturday is the short answer, but the long answer is a little more complex.

Kristjan’s JZX100 has been at the top of our minds for quite some time. When you consider the classic look of his BN Sports kit as well as the impressive performance he has squeezed out of the unopened 1JZ, then pair it with the fact that he changes wheel setups like shoes and has done the majority of the bodywork and paint on the car himself and it’s no wonder why we’re so in love with this mental Toyota sedan.

We always have the most fun filming our videos when we only start with half a plan and are surrounded by our friends. The sunny weekend meant a lot of locations we would normally shoot at were busy or inaccessible, which gave us an opportunity to get unique and try some places we hadn’t fully scouted yet. To top it all off, Kristjan gave us a proper New Zealand farewell and left us with one of the most mental brake stands we’ve ever witnessed.

Before you go, our latest drop of Japanese good goods, new stickers and all of our Checkpoint branded merchandise is available now, take a look at our store using the following link:
